Porto Marina Egypt

Date: 2 - 6 June 2022
Venue: 105K Alexandria Matrouh Road, North Coast, EL ALAMEIN, 51718, Egypt

The organisers expect ELIBS 2022 in Porto Marina to become the largest annual Boat Show in the world because of the unparalleled capabilities of the yacht harbour in Porto Marina, which can receive more than 1,500 yachts and boats with depths ranging from 5 meters to 15 meters.

Porto Marina, also Marina El Alamein, ancient Leukaspis or Antiphrae, is an upscale resort town catering mainly to the Egyptian elite. It is located on the northern coast of Egypt, with an 11 km long beach and with an eight mile long artificial lake is the largest man made marina in the world.

About Egypt

Growing population
Egypt has a young and growing population of nearly 100 million people, the largest in the Middle East and North Africa (World Bank, 2018). Its consumer market is therefore sizeable, presenting significant opportunities for UK marine businesses.

Strategic location
Egypt occupies a strategic position for trade. It is home to the Suez Canal, a vital trade route between Asia and Europe and one of the key arteries of the world economy. El Alamein is located on the Egypt Northern Coast, west of Alexandria with access to the whole of the Medditterean.

Economic potential
Economic growth in Egypt is strong and set to increase to 6% by 2023. As a result of economic reform, foreign reserves have increased, unemployment has declined and there has been significant investment in infrastructure.
